The original Musical Fidelity X10-D was designed early, its core buffer circuit is indeed excellent, Its power supply system is very poor from the perspective of audiophile. But from a commercial point of view, it is worthy of praise. It uses a set of 12V 10W power transformers, power-up and rectification out +/-32VDC to supply power to the tube, while doing single rectification to the tube filament series power supply, very simple.In response to this, the PRT09A is heavily modified under the preamplifier of the X10-D main circuit in its power supply section. The PRT09A uses a better parallel Class A regulated power supply and boosts the voltage to +-/36VDC. The parallel Class A regulated power supply has ultra-low internal resistance, low ripple and excellent listening performance.
Balance is very important because it is applied to the front end;In the power supply, we use LT1085 voltage regulator to supply power to the two tubes respectively, to avoid failure due to the different internal resistance of the filament when the series power supply is used. On the other hand, the LT1085 can be adjusted and regulated, and the filament voltage can be adjusted. As long as the power supply "AC" can keep up, players have a wealth of compatible tube options;
